The Buenaventura Picadores Toro is a handmade Nicaraguan cigar from Curivari, produced using a medium-filler blend incorporating tobacco from the manufacture of the established Buenaventura BV 500 range.
Measuring 152mm (6 inches) with a 50 ring gauge, the Picadores Toro features a traditional straight-sided shape and rounded cap.
Its tobacco composition consists of a Nicaraguan wrapper, binder and filler. Curivari's Buenaventura cigars draw on Cuban-seed tobacco grown in Nicaragua, reflecting the company's preference for traditional Cuban-style blending.
The Picadores range uses a combination of shorter tobacco pieces and longer filler material recovered during production. This medium-filler construction provides an economical alternative to the original long-filler Buenaventura cigars.
The Toro is classified as medium to medium-full strength, with commonly reported tasting notes including creamy cedar, toasted nuts, earth and gentle spice.
The cigar has a natural medium-brown wrapper with visible leaf veins and a cream-and-brown Buenaventura band bearing the words Hecho a Mano.
Available as a single loose cigar, the Buenaventura Picadores Toro provides an opportunity to explore Curivari's Nicaraguan tobacco blends and distinctive medium-filler construction.
