Released to mark the brand’s beginnings, the 1998 line uses well-aged tobaccos and a more considered blend, put together at Tabacalera de García by the Grupo de Maestros. It’s still very much VegaFina, but with a touch more richness and composure.
The VF 52 is a tidy, elegant format. Slightly slimmer than its 54 sibling, it sharpens the delivery a bit—flavours feel a little more focused, a little more precise, without losing that easy-going character.
From the outset, it’s smooth and balanced—cream, light cedar, and a gentle nuttiness. As it settles, you’ll notice coffee notes, a soft spice, and a faint sweetness running through the smoke. Nothing aggressive, nothing overdone—just a steady, well-judged progression that keeps you engaged without demanding your full attention.
The Habano 1998 wrapper adds a layer of warmth and depth, giving the cigar a slightly richer edge than the standard VegaFina lines, but it never tips into heaviness. Medium-bodied, well-mannered, and consistent throughout.
Offered here as a full box of 25, it’s the sort of cigar you can return to regularly—reliable enough for everyday, but with just enough character to keep it interesting.
