Samuel Gawith Grousemoor Plug Pipe Tobacco – Loose Samuel Gawith Grousemoor Plug is a traditional British aromatic pipe tobacco produced in Kendal, England.

The blend is based on Virginia tobacco, pressed into a dense plug and treated with the distinctive sweet and floral flavouring associated with the Grousemoor family of tobaccos.

The smoking profile combines natural Virginia characteristics of grass, sweetness and citrus with pronounced floral notes, fruit and a fresh citrus-like character. The flavouring is characteristic of the traditional Lakeland style rather than the sweeter style commonly associated with contemporary aromatics.

As a plug tobacco, Grousemoor requires preparation before filling the pipe. Thin slices can be cut across the plug and rubbed out, folded or further cut according to preference. The tobacco is traditionally supplied at a relatively high moisture level, so some drying time may improve preparation and lighting.

The pressed format produces a slow-burning tobacco in which the added aromatic character is strongest early in the bowl, gradually allowing more of the underlying Virginia tobacco to emerge.
