CAO, founded in 1968 by Cano Aret Ozgener in Nashville, Tennessee, has a captivating history. Initially, CAO focused on producing briar pipes and humidors. However, their journey took an exciting turn when they ventured into the cigar-rolling business. The brand’s initials are derived from the founder’s name. Cano grew up in Istanbul, Turkey, where he developed an appreciation for tobacco while smoking pipes. After moving to the United States, he smoked his first cigar and became captivated by the world of cigars. While most cigar manufacturers set up production in the Dominican Republic, Cano chose Honduras due to his belief in their excellent production capabilities and business vision. CAO’s evolution continued, and by 1995, they transitioned fully into cigar production in the United States.
